World’s largest rare pink diamond discovered in Angola
Luanda: The world’s largest pink diamond discovered in Angola has been named Lulu Rose.
According to the world media, the 170-carat diamond discovered in the Lulu mine in Angola has been named Lulurose according to the location and weighs 34 grams. It is a one-of-a-kind pink diamond found over a period of 300 years.
A Lulu Rose diamond is classified as Type 2A, which means it has little or no density.
Angola’s Minister of Minerals Dementino Azevedo says the discovery of Lulu Rose is a great achievement and there are better opportunities in this regard which is our unique identity in the world. He further informed that this is the fifth largest diamond in the world to come out of Ke Lo Lo.
Jewelers say it is not easy to determine the value of Lulu Rose at this time. However, in 2017, a similar pink star named Heera sold for $71.2 million at an auction in Hong Kong.
