UN Secretary-General condemns military coup in Myanmar
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the military coup in Myanmar. Antonio Guterres said the international community would do everything possible to increase pressure on Myanmar’s military authorities and that the international community should play its part in thwarting the military coup.
۔ He said that the arrest of civilian leaders including Aung San Suu Kyi was regrettable and democracy would be restored in the country by releasing the arrested leaders. Facebook service has also been suspended in various parts of Myanmar following the military coup.
A spokesman for the social networking site said Myanmar authorities should take steps to restore Facebook.
