Security tightened on Capitol Hill during Biden’s speech before the congressional hearing
WASHINGTON: Security has been tightened on Capitol Hill during US President Joe Biden’s speech ahead of a congressional hearing.
More than 2,000 National Guards have been deployed around the Capitol Hill building in Washington, surrounded by a fence, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi has expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements made during the president’s address.
Five people were killed and dozens were injured in an attack on Capitol Hill by former President Trump supporters in January.
