Saudi Tourism Department, New Terms
Riyadh: New conditions have been imposed for the licensing of residential centers in the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia.
According to details, Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib approved an amendment bill for hotels and furnished apartments in tourist destinations.
According to the basic condition of the law, a person who obtains a residence permit for tourists must be a Saudi and not have been convicted of any kind of moral crime in the past.
According to the Minister of Tourism, the change in the rules is aimed at protecting the rights of investors in the tourism sector.
The new law simplifies the process of obtaining licenses for boutique hotels, hospital hostels, farmhouses, one-star to six-star hotels and tourist destinations in addition to standard facilities, but the main condition is that the investor be Saudi. ۔
After the change in the terms of obtaining the license, the applicant will be given immediate respite of 180 days by issuing immediate permission as per his requirement, during which he can provide the required items.
For the convenience of investors, a website has also been set up for obtaining a license or carrying out other matters, where one can express one’s views and complaints.
The amended bill further states that no one will be allowed to provide tourist accommodation services without obtaining a license.
