Samia Hassan of Tanzania became the country’s first female president
After the death of the president of the East African country of Tanzania, his deputy Samia Hassan became the country’s first female president. Recently, Tanzanian President John Magofoli passed away at the age of 61, after which the country’s vice president Samia Hassan has become president.
Samia has been sworn in as the country’s first female president.
Samia Hassan, 61, will hold the presidency for the remainder of her constitutional term following the sudden death of President John Mugabe.
