Qatar seeks return to Iran’s nuclear deal
The Qatari foreign minister says he is working to bring Iran back to the nuclear deal to ease tensions in the region.

According to foreign news agency (Reuters), in a press briefing after a telephone conversation with US Special Representative for Iran Robert Male, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that Qatar rejoined Iran in the nuclear deal to reduce tensions in the region. Is working to do so, and talks are under way with both Iran and the United States.

In 2015, US President Barack Obama signed an agreement to limit Iran’s nuclear program, which eased trade sanctions on Iran, but in 2018, Donald Trump announced his withdrawal from the unilateral nuclear deal. The embargo was imposed by Iran, which suspended the implementation of the agreement and began uranium enrichment.
