According to the Indian news agency Hindustan Times, the bodies of five Indian soldiers were recovered on Saturday, April 3, while the other 17 bodies were recovered on Sunday.

According to the report, the Maoist insurgents attacked the troops in the forests of Tram, which borders Bijapur district and Sukma, while they were on patrol.

According to Indian media, this is the biggest attack against Indian forces this year. The attack also injured 32 personnel, while the soldier is still missing.

Indian media say the attack is a good indication of the growing potential and strength of the Naxalite guerrillas.

It is worth mentioning here that the Maoist insurgents have been fighting for their stated rights and freedoms since 1967.
