Iran’s significant legal victory against the United States
Iran has won a major victory in the International Court of Justice against US sanctions.
The International Court of Justice has ruled that Iran’s appeal against US sanctions is admissible.
Iran has called for the court to lift sanctions imposed by the United States on its withdrawal from the nuclear deal.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) says the court has the power to hear petitions against the United States, which has hurt Iran’s economy.
According to the news agency, 15 judges of the International Court of Justice wrote a joint decision but one judge disagreed.
On the other hand, the US State Department, while reacting to the decision of the International Court of Justice, said that it was disappointed with the decision of the court but the international court respects justice.
A State Department spokesman said: “We had appealed to the court that this case was out of its jurisdiction. The court did not accept our legal arguments and was disappointed.”
