Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040: Tourism, recreation and industrial activities will increase manifold
Abu Dhabi: The UAE state of Dubai has launched the 2040 Urban Master Plan, under which the city will be made the best city in the world and 60% of the city will be in accordance with the natural environment.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, the UAE has launched a new plan to make Dubai, the most visited city for tourism, the best city in the world.
Under the Urban Master Plan 2040, 60% of the city will be adapted to the environment, a project launched in view of Dubai’s growing population.
Officials say Dubai’s population will increase from 3.38 million to 5.8 million by 2040, which will require more land.
According to media reports, the project will cover an area of 168 sq km for industrial and economic activities, while 25 per cent will be allocated for education and health activities.
According to the plan drawn up by the Emirati authorities, 134% of the urban master plan will be for tourism, while the plan states that the capacity of public beaches will be increased to 400%.
