Dietary supplements that can reduce the risk of corona
The use of multivitamins, fish oil, probiotics or vitamin D supplements can reduce the risk of corona, new research shows.
Research has shown that vitamin C, zinc or garlic supplements do not reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
The researchers said that dietary supplements may help keep the immune system healthy, but the study looked at the extent to which certain supplements can reduce the risk of corona virus.
For the study, researchers analyzed data from more than 372,000 people.
These individuals reported the extent to which they used dietary supplements between May and July 2020.
Between May and July, 175,000 people used dietary supplements, while 177,000 did not.
A total of 23,521 people were diagnosed with the corona virus between May and July, while more than 349,000 tested negative.
Researchers have found that taking probiotics, fish oil capsules or omega-3 fatty acids, multivitamins or vitamin D can increase the risk of contracting the corona virus, taking into account a normal diet, pre-existing diseases and other factors. Can reduce by 12, 13 and 9%.
However, researchers have not been able to find any such effect from zinc, vitamin C or garlic supplements.
