New Delhi: In India, the world’s largest self-proclaimed democracy, several leading journalists, including opposition leader Shashi Tharoor, have been charged with sedition for criticizing the Modi government.
Police in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have registered sedition cases against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and six other leading journalists in the country, but no arrests have been made, according to the International News Agency.
