Canada: Permanent Accommodation for 90,000 Foreign Students
Canada’s Minister of Immigration has announced that 90,000 foreign students and health workers will be granted permanent residency.
On a microblogging site, Immigration Minister Marco Mandy Sino said that Canada has decided to provide permanent accommodation to 90,000 foreign students and workers, with some Pakistani students in Canada likely to receive the facility.
The Immigration Minister said that those who served during the Karuna epidemic would be given permanent residence. The permanent residency program will take effect on May 6.
According to the Minister of Immigration of Canada, people with one year of work experience in various fields, including healthcare, will be eligible. Graduates who have obtained post secondary degree during the last 4 years will also be eligible for this program.
It is worth mentioning here that last year in 2020, the Canadian government announced a plan to resettle more than 1.2 million new foreigners in the next 3 years.
Marco Mendesino said the decision was made to address the country’s shortage of manpower and boost the economy. Marco added that the government would approve 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021, 411,000 in 2022 and 421,000 in 2023.
