British Foreign Secretary leaves for Qatar for talks with Taliban leadership
London: British Foreign Secretary Dominic Robb has left for Qatar for talks with the Taliban leadership.
British Foreign Secretary Dominic Robb has left for Qatar to hold talks with the Afghan Taliban, where he will meet with the Taliban leadership and discuss the evacuation of British nationals in Afghanistan and Afghan forces working as translators with British forces.
A statement from the British Foreign Office said Dominic Robb would discuss a four-point agenda with the Taliban leadership, including ensuring peace and order in Afghanistan, preventing terrorists from becoming safe havens and protecting Afghan citizens. Issues include Taliban human rights issues, including accountability.
It should be noted that the British government is being severely criticized in the country regarding the strategy adopted for the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
