Birth of a rare black rhinoceros
A rare breed of black rhinoceros has given birth at an Australian zoo.
The birth of a rare breed of black rhino is being celebrated at the zoo. The rare rhinoceros calf is the last of its kind after its father died last year.
Rhinoceros mother Bakhtiya and her baby’s upbringing can be seen with the help of CCTV cameras. About 6,000 endangered species of black rhinos remain in the world.
“This is the fourth calf of veteran mother Bakhtia,” Steve Hinks, director of the Tarunga Western Field Zoo, told the media.
